“I like being overdressed”, Agoo confessed when I asked her to describe her personal style. That didn’t shock me; as her good friend since our early days in Summit, I’ve seen her dress to the nines in Boracay, house hang-outs, the mall, grocery shopping and even to a beer joint in Baguio during my wedding weekend last year. Yup, I know her style–and her–like the back of my hand; no place or occasion is exempt from a mini editorial. I especially love how she mixes high-low finds and making it look like a million bucks– a true testament of being a real fashionista. I live for people like her and will never tire of seeing well-dressed folk doing ordinary things. That’s Agoo for you. Every time we meet up, I always look forward to what she’s put together next. She is the antithesis to my own style preference: while I like to look a bit messy and undone, here comes Agoo in her full regalia, perfectly put together down to the color of her nail polish. Our love for fashion and beauty are some of the reasons we gravitated towards each other. As the saying goes, birds of the same feather…wear (ostrich) feathers! She’s one of the few people I can discuss Hollywood gossip and fashion with to great lengths, as if it were life-altering (Ryan Gosling hooking up with Eva Mendes, is one and why the recent LV collection seems confused, is another). Fluff, apparently, when shared with like-minded people can be seriously serious. We both march to the beat of our own drums and through the years evolved into the women we are today: different but somehow the same, doing grown up stuff while never letting go of our joy of playing dress up. I am more than delighted to share her personal style with you.

What she does Beauty Expert for Unilever; wife and mom to 2 boys
Personal style Polished and (sometimes) overdressed
Her days be like The past 2 years have been a lot more relaxed. I rarely have too much work to do and when I do, I work mostly from home. Unilever’s beauty brands (Pond’s, Cream Silk, Dove, Toni & Guy, Tresemmé, CloseUp) will come up with big launches every now and then which I sometimes have to contribute to or be a part of and that’s always fun! I also enjoy playing with make up!
On weekends, it’s really about family time. My husband, Andy is a huge foodie so he likes to take us to try out new restos. On Sundays, we visit my in-laws and my parents’ house.
Favorite designers and shopping haunts I’m always in Zara. I also like to check out fun and trendy labels like Forever 21, Stradivarius or Bershka. There’s also this IG account, Accessories for Me and Mom which I order a lot from. I always look forward to Net-a-Porter’s sale season—I’ve gotten some good bargains there.
Right now, I’m loving Self Portrait although I have yet to own a piece from them. I love Betina Ocampo’s embellished and embroidered sweaters, Joey Samson’s tailored ensembles and Boom Sason’s sexy yet sophisticated designs. A new designer I’ve come to love is Esme Palaganas. She made this electric pleated dress for me which came out so well!
Top 5 closet staples My black palazzo pants by Martin Bautista, a white silk polo from Zara, a pearl slider earring by jewelry designer Mel Cuevas, a fluid midi length dress with an asymmetrical neckline from Accessories for Me and Mom, and a pair of electric blue statement heels from Sophia Webster.
Celebrity crush Definitely Olivia Palermo. A close second would be Rosie Huntington-Whitely. I just love the unusual combinations they come up with and how they layer their clothes so well. They always look so polished from any angle the paparazzi takes of them.

Style evolution Back when I was still going to the Summit office Monday to Friday, 9-5, sneakers and rubber shoes were deemed way too casual for the Preview girls but things have drastically changed since then. I see girls wear sneakers with everything from culottes to pencil cut midi length skirts. I’m still trying to see if I can pull it off. I have to admit, it’s not as effortless for me to just throw on a pair of sneakers. I’m a girly-girl that way and I still prefer pretty sandals or stilettos over casual footwear like sneakers. Now that I’m older, I’m investing in more flats. It’s just way too hard on my knees and feet to be in heels all day.

Current uniform I think it’s nice to change up your look every now and then but I think one can’t help but gravitate towards a certain style. I practically live in maxi skirts, dresses and jumpsuits because they’re dressy yet comfortable and more importantly, suit my body type.
