I’ve been M.I.A with good reason. I just tied the knot exactly a month ago today and it’s been a whirlwind of events that culminated with Christmas. It has been quite the roller-coaster ride with ups and downs and twists and turns in between. Nonetheless, I’m happy albeit being a bit sick–always an indication of too much fun–which is, in a way, great!
I’ll start my wedding series post with my bridal shower held at Balay Dako in Tagaytay a week before our wedding last November. It was my first time to go and heard tons of good things about it: from the food, the ambiance, the architecture and overall feel. So I was delighted when my sister / Maid of Honor suggested we hold it there, sans male strippers and alchohol which suited me just fine. We had green (dirty) games to make up for it and a “how well do you know Anne” portion that I enjoyed immensely. The ladies in the family had a good laugh while the few men who tagged along enjoyed the Pinoy fare downstairs. All in all the perfect bridal shower!
Balay Dako means “Big House” in Ilonggo. It really does resemble a huge house with family photos displayed all around.
