If my memory serves me right, I met Bianca in Assumption (an all-girls school in Makati) more than two decades ago at dismissal time in the grade school gate. She and my sister were tied to the hip since their pre-teen years and being the Manang, I’d always pick her up at Bianca’s house after a sleepover or from the mall after a hang-out during sem break or summer. I had gotten to know my sister’s barkada then as kids who had innocent fun, playing in arcades and going on group shoots in a studio dressed as 90s hip hop icons. Years later, I stumbled upon Bianca with their other BFF Corine at an event in Malate. I was pleasantly surprised to see them all grown up, dressed so fashionably mingling with fashion folk. I couldn’t resist the urge to tease them about making their curfews. To me, they’ll always be the little girls who loved to run around campus, happily oblivious to the world.

Bianca became an intern with her friend (now stylist) Patrick Ty, in Seventeen. It was a trip having her around the office patiently working behind the scenes and joining us every crunch time during turnover. “Omg, that’s where it all began!”, she says with a laugh. She went on to join another publication and we’d find ourselves in the same events, dinners and parties. We were together in KL once for Malaysia Fashion Week with some local designers, a fun yet surreal trip that had us arguing with a cab driver (who tried to cheat us) and bargain shopping at a sub par joint, to say the least! In 2009, she took her MBA in Luxury Goods and Fashion Industries at Mod’Art International in Paris. She also worked for luxury travel website My Best Address BookAlong with her best friend Corine, she launched Vito Studio in 2012, one of the first luxury online shops in the country. I chanced upon a photo of Bianca in FB that really caught my attention. She was wearing a simple dress with statements flats, looking so fresh and summery! I decided to touch base with her again and asked if she was game for the feature. She immediately said yes and what followed was a super fun afternoon catching up in between talking about work, killer shoes and being O.C. like her Pops (who by the way, is a big believer of blogs!)

Personal Style I tend to like extremes. When I feel feminine, I go all-out girly. When I have a full schedule ahead, my first instinct tells me to wear something androgynous. In terms of color palette, grays, blacks, white and other earth tones are preferred. Silhouettes are often those that allow for comfortable dressing. Pieces that draw my attention are those that not everyone can wear. Overall, however, I prescribe to a “uniform” of blacks, whites and grays.

Her days be like I lead 48 hour days. I go to the Lifestyle Asia office–meetings, emails, copy editing and meeting deadlines. Sometimes I have events to attend. I also find time to pass by the Vito Studio HQ. It’s a really exciting and dynamic lifestyle where no two days are ever alike.

Lately weekends are devoted to staying in bed all day in my pajamas to catch up on sleep and much needed R and R. Otherwise, I make plans with my good friends for a get together either at a nearby restaurant or host at home. Sundays are a favorite of mine because this means I get to spend time with my dad and sister. We usually have a hearty late lunch, hear mass and lounge around.

I’ve recently been considering going on a trek. Hahaha! My hobbies, if you can consider it that, include spending weekends at the beach, getting a quick (albeit painful) workout into my schedule, and reading a book. Books are one of my favorite things.

Favorite designers and shopping haunts Oh wow, I shop from anywhere and everywhere. My favorite of course would be My business partner Corine always jokes that when we decide on merchandise I tend to focus on all the pieces I want for myself. Apart from that, I like to get pieces from various trips abroad or my favorite local designers like Randy Ortiz, Joey Samson and recently Ryan Madamba. I frequent VITO Studio, Stradivarius, Bershka, Zara, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Hermes, D&G and more recently Tod’s.

Celebrity crush Mila Kunis. She has a very effortless yet tough chic appeal about her that I love. Plus, she seems like the type of girl who doesn’t take herself too seriously which makes her all the more endearing.

Style Evolution Comfort is now a big consideration when picking out an ensemble. The pieces i select need to be just as comfortable as they are aesthetically appealing. I am now also more drawn to outfits that can go from day to night.

Current uniform Mine would be a white top and a skirt or trousers in any neutral color. As for shoes, I’d have to say a pair of sneakers/oxfords or flats.
