Sister Act: the girls behind the clothing brand Religioso.
There is a certain bond amongst women who have sisters that only they can understand. I’ve always been fascinated by how this special relationship operates, often relating back to my bond with my own sister. Yvette and Choc of the brand Religioso are two ladies who are different yet similar: for one, they share the same fashion sense which is a big plus since they work so closely in designing and managing their shop. Ever the entrepreneurs, they also own and manage two salons, Studio 546 in Shangri-la Mall and The Style Run in Makati (behind Rustans Supermarket). The sisters are also fitness fanatics, both sporting enviable bods and always mindful of their diet. Both girls also love to travel and take inspiration from the places they visit. “We always have a fresh perspective after a trip and pick up trends wherever we go”, says Choc who is seven years younger and the MTO designer of the two. Big sis Yvette also co-designs and takes care of the business side. An easy banter exists between them, one that’s refreshing and sweet, quickly putting me at ease and made the afternoon a delight to shoot. I met them during my Preview days right when their brand launched in 2005. Both girls have always been easy to talk to, friendly and relaxed without the airs of the typical die-hard fashion person. Since then, their aesthetic has evolved along with their physiques and personal style. What better way to launch my 2016 style profile features than with these two gorgeous ladies!
