Iris is a corporate girl through and through. She started her career fresh out of college and climbed the ranks, eventually leading to her current position in corporate communications at a multinational bank. Her career path reminds me very much of my mom’s, who stayed in one company all her life and wore smart skirt and pants suits every single day. I welcomed the challenge to come up with good office-worthy pieces so when I brought up the subject of a wardrobe revamp, she immediately said yes to shopping, saying it was exactly what she needed as she was fairly new to the company and wanted to make a (stylish) impression.
We began by building her make-up kit from scratch. I had to consult with my friend, beauty expert Agoo Bengzon for tips on what to get for olive skin tone such as hers, how to make her beautiful big eyes pop and highlight her enviable lips. It took us a few hours to try everything, decide on which ones to get from each brand, got a simple tutorial on how to apply and in the end got the best products with value for money.
Two wardrobe shopping trips later and we were done! I found her pieces that she could mix and match, a good variety of pants, skirts and jackets that can take her from a board meeting to happy hour with friends–even a hot date dress for that special event. Iris was quite happy with the results, adding that she is now excited to get dressed every morning to show off her new clothes. I think mom would approve.
