Summer is practically here, save for some balmy mornings and sometimes windy nights; come lunchtime, you can definitely feel the heat creeping in and that’s my cue to turn on the AC.
That said, I’m looking forward to the fashion that’ll be exploding as the temps rise. The SS 2019 trends aren’t exactly groundbreaking but there are some surprises (bike shorts are here to stay it seems) and there’s something for everyone: the conservative and crazy, the prepster and artist, the normal and avant garde. I somehow fit in all of these categories, depending on my mood. Comment below which tribe you belong to and see you at the streets/beach/ mountains this summer, hopefully in a version of one of these!
Neutrals

This trend is simple enough to pull off and there are no rules, just what the event or situation calls for.
Print Mixing

We all know I love a good print story! These two runway shots abide by the same rule: keep it tight in the same color family.
Cargo Pants

Was a fan of this in the early 2000s and still a fan to this day. So enjoyable to mix it up with a feminine piece for contrast!
Neon

Another trend I grew up with but this time, given a modern twist that I’m just as in love with!
Brights Suits

These suits make me want to buy coordinates of my own. Wearing color is such a happy circumstance!
Jumpsuits

The new jumpsuit is part masculine, part feminine and oozing with so much attitude. Coveting the white Chanel and navy Isabel Marant!
Bike Shorts

Kids of the ’90s will remember biking shorts for their sole purpose: as a sporty piece. The new generation wears it as a fashion statement and I’m totally on board with that.
Preppy

As a Gen X-er, preppy dressing will always be close to my heart and the trend proves its staying power as a staple in fashion for years to come. Classics are forever.
