So I finally got my wedding shoes, purchased by my friend abroad and very kindly brought by my mom back home. I was unsure of how I’d react seeing it live since I only saw pics and a pixillated Viber video chat of my friend Marah trying it on at the store. It (the purchase) happened in a matter of minutes, as most exciting shopping does when it’s the last size and color of choice. Throwing caution to the wind, I said go and waited a few days before I had it in my hands. Unlike some brides, I knew what shoe I wanted from the very start. It was the same with my wedding dress design. I was a bit afraid I’d be so indecisive given all the options but I guess being a stylist taught me to follow my instincts and edit out the unnecessary. I’m glad I did because the minute I unwrapped the box (and there were layers upon layers of paper before the shoe appeared), it was a match made in shoe heaven! The color was perfect, the height manageable and it was oh-soooo-comfy. I wanted to cry from happiness! I have my friend Nancy to thank since I already test drove her pair at a friend’s wedding a few years back (in the 5 in. version too) so I was sure of the comfort level. The last thing I want is to sit down in pain at my own reception. With this pair, I can literally dance all night long!
Getting the perfect shoes inspired me to search for other kinds of wedding shoes, from the traditional to the unexpected. It was a joy looking through different sites and coming up with my own wish list. Here’s hoping this post helps brides-to-be in their quest to find their dream pair. Remember, if it feels right, get it! I promise to post a photo on my wedding day. For now, enjoy these beauties.
